Triathlon
Share a Smile is a local non-profit public charity created to help the less fortunate. It was founded by Dr Eric Vogel and his staff. Share a Smile has done local service projects including: hygiene kits for the homeless, presentations in local elementary schools, sub for Santa, monthly visits to the Food and Care Coalition to provide dentistry for the homeless and poor. They have also participated in the ADA’s “Give a Kid a Smile Day”.

Our current project is building and equipping a permanent charity dental clinic at the Food and Care Coalition. This will be a place where dental professionals from the Utah Valley area can come with their staffs to donate their time and skills. Many homeless and poor in our community will be able to receive needed help. All funds raised by the triathlon this year will go toward this project.

Share a Smile has also taken an active roll in providing dental care for the poor and training for dentists in third world countries. These countries include: Haiti, Bolivia, Russia, Mexico, and Malaysia. Currently a trip to China is being planned for the spring of 2005 where volunteers will work with local dentists to provide care to children in outlying orphanages.

Every dollar raised by the Share a Smile Triathlon goes directly to helping those in need. Share a Smile is unique in that it has no administrative costs. We work on a volunteer basis only. We have no paid employees.
