Please note: This
year we have added a NOVICE DIVISION, the distances are ˝ of the full race.
This is a great division for young teens and anyone wanting a more relaxed
race! We encourage everyone to
participate and hope this addition helps.
PRE-RACE DAY INFORMATION:
-It is a good idea to label your gear with your name and phone number.
-Please make family and friends aware of the race rules and what area they will not be permitted in.
-Train properly; come to know your body and its needs. Be prepared.
-Insure your safety by making sure your bike is in full working condition.
-Contact us before race day with your questions as race day

-Remember this is a race for charity; it is also a race for fun and a chance for you to get into better physical condition and have a sense of accomplishment. You are competing only with yourself. It may be a good idea to set a goal for yourself and work to achieve that goal. During your training you will come to know what kind of goal will safely stretch you and be achievable.
-For many of our competitors this is your first time
competing in a triathlon. We think it’s
great! Please note that we are not professional race coordinators. Please be flexible and understanding. We will do our best to make this a fun race
for you, but we anticipate unknowns. Your patience is appreciated.
Please remember this is a race for charity and is put together with the
idea of doing something to help others, and having fun!

-If you have special needs or will need medication or such given to you along the route you must contact us before race day!
RACE DAY INFORMATION:
The Race will begin promptly at
Please bring a sports type bag or back pack with your swim cap, goggles, towel, socks, running shoes, and extra clothing, and any other personal items. We cannot be responsible for lost or stolen items so please bring only the necessities. Please secure number tag to your bag before entering the race area.
After securing tags on you bike, helmet and bag, you will check your
bike in to the bike holding area. Secure a spot for your bike and personal
items. Say your goodbyes to family and friends at this time. You may carry your bag with you and proceed
to the changing rooms. (NOTE: NO FAMILY MEMBERS OR FRIENDS
For your safety we have acquired the Scera pool for the swimming portion. Lifeguards will be on duty. Please follow their direction as given and be courteous to them and the other staff working there. Also please pick up all personal belongings and treat the facilities well.
It may be easier to come to the race with your swim suit or gear on as time and space in the changing room is limited. After changing into your swim gear please exit the door into the pool area (Again please note that only participants and authorized volunteers are to be on the pool deck-failure to obey this rule will result in disqualification. Spectators can watch from the observations desk. (Again, one adult per participating child allowed).
In order to make the swim as easy and safe for you as possible there will be a staggered start. Swimmers will enter the pool with a 30 second delay between entries and swim up and down each lane across the pool. If you need to pass the person in front of make sure the passing lane is clear. Tap the foot of the person in front of you to let them know you are passing and then proceed to pass. If your foot is tapped please be courteous and allow the faster swimmers to pass you.
After finishing, collect your bag and proceed to the
changing room to change (if necessary) into your biking/running gear. Please collect all your items before leaving the changing room and be completely
dressed and ready to mount your bike. No
nudity outside the changing rooms please!
Proceed to the bike area where you will leave your bag and collect your bike and you are off to the bike portion of the race. For safety reasons you may not ride your bike in the bike parking area. You must walk it to the street where you will there mount your bike and take off for the bike portion of the race.
During the bike and run portion of the race please be aware of traffic and other users of the road. Please be courteous and careful. Also please inform family and friends that they are not allowed on the road and encourage them to obey all traffic rules.
Their will be one limited aid station half way along both the bike and the run portions of the race. They will have cell phones to contact medical help. Water and granola bars will be available. Please give your litter to volunteers or toss it in the direction of the black garbage bags. The bike aid station will have limited bike repairs available. Personal nutrients are permitted if carried on your person, in a front pack, or bike pack. Please do not litter.
The bike portion will end at the same place it started. This
will allow you to drop off your bike in its place with your bag. For safety reasons please walk to the road to
begin the running portion of the race. Note: No unauthorized persons
should be in the area of the bike drop off. This
will help us prevent injury and theft!
End of the race:
Volunteers will meet you at the finish line and record your time. Their will be water, Gatorade, fruit and food
for participants. A limited aide station
will also be available. Please collect all belongings before
leaving the race and make sure an official has seen you come in. If you are
unable to complete the race please make sure an official is informed that you
will not be finishing.
This is a lot of information! Please review it the day before the race so
you are familiar with how things will run.
But don’t worry-volunteers will be available to point you in the right
direction. We strongly encourage you
to study the race map and if possible ride the route prior to race day. Your knowledge of the course will help
ensure your safety and keep you from becoming lost!
Their will be a lost and found at the end of the race. All items found must be claimed within 72 hours prior to the race end or they will be donated to the Deseret Industries. Again, we cannot be responsible for lost or stolen items.
We will try to make race times available shortly after you finish, however official race times will be available on our website within the week after race completion. We will to send out an e-mail with the times corresponding to each number.
We anticipate a relaxed and fun race! We encourage you to cheer one another on and have great sportsmanship. We hope each of you meets your goals-but more importantly that you have a good time and feel good about supporting a local charity.
RACE RULES:
1) Participants are expected to obey direction and instructions of all race officials, lifeguards, and public authorities.
2) No contestant may use alcohol or any illegal, detrimental or dangerous drugs, stimulants, depressants or substances with the intent to improve performance, eliminate the sense of fatigue or for any other purpose.
3) Fraud, theft, abusive treatment of volunteers and others and acts of poor sportsmanship are grounds for immediate disqualification, removal from the race, and if necessary police involvement.
4) Any athlete who exits the race for any reason must inform a race official.
5) Spectators are welcome but must follow direction and rules of race officials
SWIM COURSE AND RULES
Course length: 16 lengths for the full race division, 8 lenghts for the novice and 1 length for the children’s route.

BIKE COURSE AND RULES
Course length: 10 miles for the full race division, 5 miles for the novice division, and approximately 1 mile for the children’s route.
RUN COURSE AND RULES
Length: 5K or 3.2 Miles for the full race division, 1.7 for
the novice division and ˝ mile for the children’s route.
1. No form of locomotion other than running, walking, or crawling is allowed.
MEDICAL INFORMATION:
A triathlon pushes the physical
limits of human endurance. Be aware of several conditions: Dehydration, Respiratory allergies/asthma,
temperature problems with hyper/hypothermia, Trauma, Muscle and Skeletal
injuries. Please be aware of your body
during training. Know how much water
your body needs, too much or too little can both be damaging. Make
us aware of special medical conditions. If you have a Medical Alert badge,
please wear it. Help us help you. Be prepared. Their will be limited medical assistance
at the aid stations. A cell phone will be
available to call emergency care. Be aware that participants are responsible
for the cost of emergency care and all medical costs pertaining to injuries
sustained in this race, whether from accident or illness. Ambulance transfers and Emergency room visits
are expensive and we strongly recommend
that participants have full medical insurance and/or racing insurance. Racers
will not be allowed to race without signing a release form.
